About this event

The IFIS Regional Cybersecurity Conference took place on 15 October 2026 at the Speke Resort Hotel, Munyonyo, as the flagship event of Cybersecurity Awareness Month in Uganda.

Our purpose was to connect cybersecurity and responsible AI adoption with decisions that protect our institutions and the people they serve. Delegates were asked to leave with one priority action: capture a lesson, name an owner and set a review date.

Three themes

  1. Cybersecurity. Protection of digital services, incident readiness and practical security priorities. Can we keep critical services running?
  2. Risk management. Ownership, risk appetite and how to connect cyber exposure with enterprise decisions. Who owns the next high-stakes decision?
  3. Artificial intelligence. Responsible adoption, AI system security and the role of human oversight. Where can AI add value with clear safeguards?

The conference was made possible with the generous sponsorship of Housing Finance Bank. The delegate guide, with the full programme and speaker profiles, is available in the resource library.
