Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2026

The Institute of Forensics and ICT Security (IFIS) is the Official Champion of the Global Cybersecurity Awareness Month, October 2026, in Uganda. The campaign ran from 1 to 31 October 2026 under the tags #IFISCyberSecurity2026, #CyberAwarenessUG and #SecureUgandaTogether.

What IFIS did this October

• School and organisation visits. Free cybersecurity awareness sessions for staff, teachers and students at participating organisations and schools.
• Interactive sessions. Physical and online interactive sessions on cybersecurity, fraud prevention and digital hygiene.
• Company engagements. Direct cybersecurity engagements with employees inside partner organisations.
• Regional conference. A flagship one-day conference bringing together government, financial institutions and industry leaders, held on 15 October 2026 at the Speke Resort Hotel, Munyonyo.

Awareness sessions

Sessions normally cost USD 1,200 to 2,500. During Cybersecurity Awareness Month they were offered at a large discount: UGX 950,000 virtual or UGX 1,550,000 physical, for an unlimited number of staff, per session. One topic per company, first come first registered.
